Both surfaces are exposed to a 2,000-degree open-flame torch, a level of heat far beyond what structures face during typical ember storms and radiant heat events.

Here’s what happens:

Untreated Wood

The raw control sample ignites instantly and burns aggressively with no resistance, demonstrating how quickly wildfire embers can ignite unprotected lumber.

CitroTech®-Treated Wood

The treated sample does not ignite.

To push the test further, we apply lighter fluid directly onto the treated surface as an accelerant. Even with added fuel, the wood only lightly chars, it never holds a flame, and ignition cannot be sustained. Once the accelerant burns off, the surface remains intact.
