Oscar Lucario

Oscar Lucario is a landscape designer and land manager with over 25 years of experience in sustainable, organic practices in Marin and Sonoma Counties. He has managed home gardens, food production farms, and land preserves, including the California School of Herbal Studies in Forestville and a 5-acre community garden at the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. His work focuses on creating chemical-free habitats for native, medicinal, and edible plants, bees, and beneficial insects to enhance climate resilience; and he teaches at local chapters of the California Native Plant Society. Oscar currently serves as Public Works Supervisor for the City of Sausalito, where he oversees sustainable infrastructure projects and continues developing organic landscaping guidelines. He holds a BS in Environmental Studies and certificates in land management and sustainable landscape design from Sonoma State University, as well as a certificate in permaculture design. He is former ReScape Board President, a ReScape Instructor and ReScape Qualified Professional (RQP). Oscar integrates Indigenous land stewardship knowledge from his native Mexico into his practices.
