FireHawk® Bioherbicide traces its roots back to Contact Organics PTY LTD, founded in Australia in 2015. The company was created to extend the use of cutting-edge delivery technology originally developed for producing high-quality human nutrition supplements. The founders of Contact Organics set out to create a contact herbicide that was both consistently effective and environmentally responsible — targeting weeds without harming the soil or surrounding ecosystem. Using a specialized blend of organic acids, natural oils, and fully biodegradable wetting agents, and emulsifiers, they developed a formula designed to quickly dry out and eliminate weeds and unwanted vegetation. The proprietary technology behind the product has been perfected over 30 years to produce premium nutrition supplements and was later adapted for use in the weed control sector. The company’s first-generation products in Australia were branded as Home Safe, Local Safe, and Farm Safe. When expanding into the United States, however, regulatory restrictions prevented the use of the word "safe" in pesticide names. As a result, the product was reintroduced as Weed Terminator 20. After years of trials, real-world applications, and continuous improvements, the current version — FireHawk Bioherbicide — was launched. In early 2024, the company rebranded from Contact Organics to Contact BioSolutions to better reflect its broader focus on sustainable biological solutions. You may still see references to the original name across our website, but the mission remains unchanged: delivering better, greener weed control.
